We have a JIRA license and intend to keep it, but we aim to stop usin X-Ray.
We aim to unsubscribe X-Ray. Will X-Ray tests, test plans, and execution remaing available after unsubscribing? Willl we be able to view them and search? If no, what is the best way to save them or to project them from being unavailable?
If we subscribe again, will we be able to recover the X-Ray data?
Your Xray issues (Tests, Test Plans, Executions) will remain in Jira after unsubscribing because are Jira issues. You can still view and search them using Jira filters.
Xray-specific panels, reports, and fields will no longer work, so I suggest exporting your test data before unsubscribing, just in case.
If you re-subscribe later, your data and Xray features will be restored.
You could also create an Xray support ticket and confirm data retention with them to be safe
Thanks @Ignacio Vera going to follow your advice

Hi Maria,
Once you unsubscribe from Xray, all the related issue types (Tests, Test Plans, Executions) will remain in Jira as standard issues — but you’ll lose access to Xray-specific fields, reports, and links. The data is stored in Xray’s app storage, so you won’t be able to view it in context or run Xray reports anymore.
✅ Before unsubscribing: export your data (e.g., via Xray’s REST API or built-in export features).
🔁 If you re-subscribe later: your data and links will usually be restored automatically once Xray is reinstalled under the same site.
