Hi,

We have a checklist plugin (7.0.6) installed in our self-hosted out of support Jira 9.12.2 on Linux box. Plugin stopped working on 2nd March 2026 and our SQL database was upgraded on 13th April 2026.

Below is snippet of the error generated in the log file:

Appreciate your assistance.

Thanks

Hi Sam,

What's the problem you are having with the app? You said "Plugin stopped working", but can you go in more details?

It's hard to tell what's going on from the logs alone. It seems like some classes may not have been loaded. Perhaps disabling/enabling the app (or uninstall/reinstall) could help.

This unsupported version of Jira now causes issues with opening dialogs in the Checklist app (for example trying to open the manage template dialog) on newer versions of Chrome.

Kind regards
Max

Apologies, I submitted the issue too early.

So, we can interact with the existing lists, we can't seem to load template lists or edit the lists using the full list editor.

Hi Sam,

Is it possible you are on a Jira version prior to 9.14? There was an update in some Chromium browsers from which dialog windows in older Jira versions stopped working correctly.

The issue we found started happening after update 144.0.7559.97 of Chrome Browser and an update of Edge browser that came around the same time. The browser updates specifically broke a part of Jira’s core dialog system in older Jira versions, which the app uses.

Sadly, the problem is rooted in Jira’s dialog system, so no changes we do in our app can resolve the issue. Normally, this is something that Atlassian would fix, but the version of Jira you are using is not supported by them anymore (as of writing this comment, any version prior to 9.16 is EOS).

If you are on an older version of Jira, I strongly suggest you look into upgrading Jira to at least version 9.14. Last we’ve checked, the problem does not occur on Firefox, so in the meantime you could switch browsers.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I missed anything or if you have any questions!

Kind regards,

Sam Al

I've tried Disabling/enabling the app with no success.

Uninstalling the app is risky since our instance is unsupported, it could lead to issues if we can't get back in to install the app.
