Yes, you can.
Test issue type also uses screens, just like other issue types, so you can add fields to the screens used by the issue type "Test"

As @Marc -Devoteam- mentioned, Test is just another work item type that Xray is using, so yes, you add the field from Space settings > Work items > Screens, just like any other work item types.

On top of adding Jira fields to an Xray work type, you CAN also create Xray Custom Fields for Tests Sets and Test Runs. These live in the Xray data and not on Jira,
These are on the space level though and allow additional data in the Xray data.
