Hi there 👋 I’m Elena from Communardo Products!

We often meet teams that are at very different stages of their Atlassian journey, from those just getting started with Jira and Confluence to those running advanced setups with automations, integrations, and governance.

We’re curious: How would you describe your Atlassian usage maturity level?

👉 Vote in the poll and let us know where you see yourself today!

We’d also love to hear in the comments what helped you move from one level to the next.

The poll is anonymous, and no registration is required.

Thanks so much for being part of the conversation! 🙌

I'd be very interested to have a deeper definition of these different stages of maturity. E.g. "governance"...of what?

Hi @Peter Norris ,

Thanks for raising this question!

Here’s a more detailed view of the stages:

  • Beginner: Just getting started — basic task tracking or documentation, minimal customization.

  • Intermediate: Some custom workflows and use of add-ons.

  • Advanced: Automation and integrations are in place; governance here refers to team-level standards, such as consistent workflows, and clear project ownership or space allocation.

  • Expert: Governance at the organization-wide level — defined policies for workflows, permissions, content lifecycle, integrations, reporting, and oversight to ensure consistency across all teams.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,

Elena

I'd be very interested in best practice for governance. I think it would be a really beneficial topic. For instance, we have an assigned owner for every work item type - if anyone wants to make a change, it has to be approved by them first. This ensures that changes to work items will benefit the masses not just one team.
