Let's talk workflow: How do you handle simple text changes from Confluence?

Hi everyone,

I was chatting with a Product Manager last week, and they brought up a classic source of friction for their team: the "simple" text change.

It's a scenario we've probably all seen. A small typo is found on a pricing page, or a button label needs to be clearer. The change itself is tiny, but the process to get it live is anything but simple.

For their team, the workflow usually looks like this:

  1. The Product Manager documents the required change on a Confluence page.
  2. A Jira ticket is created and assigned to a developer.
  3. A developer gets pulled away from a bigger feature or bugfix to find and change a single text string in the code.
  4. The update then has to wait for the next scheduled deployment cycle.

A five-minute fix ends up taking days and involves multiple hand-offs, which feels like a significant bottleneck for a supposedly agile team.

This got me thinking, this can't be an uncommon problem. So, I'm genuinely curious to ask the community:

  • How does your team manage this process today?
  • Have you found any clever workarounds or automations to speed this up?
  • Is this just an accepted "cost of doing business," or have you found a better way to sync content between your Confluence docs and your live app?

Looking forward to hearing what works for other teams out there.

Cheers!
