We kept running into the same gap: work that lives partly in the physical world (server racks, lab equipment, warehouse stations, printed handover sheets) and Jira issues that describe that work, with nothing connecting the two except someone typing an issue key from a sticker.
So, we built QR for Jira, a free app that adds a panel to every issue and renders a QR code on the spot.
- Three encode modes: the issue URL (scan and the issue opens), the bare issue key (for inventory systems), or key + summary (human-readable labels)
- Print it, stick it on the hardware, or post it at a station. Anyone with a phone camera lands on the issue
- Works in Jira and Jira Service Management (asset tags on equipment tied to service requests was the original itch)
Privacy: QR generation happens entirely inside Atlassian's Forge platform. Nothing external, nothing stored, read-only scope. Free forever, with no premium tier hiding behind it.
