It's no secret that the average Marketplace app count often drops when moving an Atlassian instance from on-prem to Cloud. To make the migration process faster and easier, companies really double down on optimising processes and cutting costs. That's a natural part of the process.
But it's really tough to figure out exactly which apps should remain on the new hosting.
🤔 Is there enough value in the product to continue paying for it?
🤔 Are there any potential problems with Cloud security and compliance? (Does the app run on Atlassian?)
🤔 Is there enough money to budget the entire instance, given the cost of migration and retraining?
🤔 Is it possible to migrate an app using the Cloud Migration Assistant?
I work with Atlassian Marketplace vendors and Solution Partners, and many more migrations are coming up within the next 2 years. I'd like the Ecosystem to unite and learn from our mutual experience, so we make our lives a little bit easier 🙌
So what's your approach to app filtering and selection when migrating to the Cloud?
âť“ What are your most common Marketplace app migration blockers?
âť“ And vice versa: what makes an app a no-brainer to migrate?
To weed out obvious replies, I assume all apps in question have a Cloud version and are actually helpful for the team.
Thanks!
