Track Checklist Progress in Jira with a New Dashboard Gadget

If you're using checklists across multiple projects or teams, you've probably run into this: there's no easy way to track checklist progress in Jira and see what's done and what's still open without clicking into every work item individually.

The new Checklists Progress dashboard gadget in our Checklists for Jira (Templates & Automation) app changes that by bringing all your checklist data into one place, right inside your Jira dashboard.

How to track checklist progress in Jira with the new dashboard gadget

Using the Checklists Progress gadget, you get a dedicated space to track checklist progress in Jira directly from your dashboard without opening individual tasks. It lets you:

  • See checklist items across multiple projects, work items, and assignees — without leaving your Jira dashboard.

  • Filter by project, assignee, item status (completed / incomplete), and date of creation — so you only see what's relevant to you right now.

  • Group results by project, work item, or assignee — to quickly understand how checklist progress is distributed across your team.

For example, you can filter by a project, set status to Incomplete, and immediately see every checklist step that's still open across all work items — useful before a sprint review or release to confirm nothing was skipped.

Or filter by your name and set status to Incomplete — and instead of jumping between work items to piece together what's still on your plate, you get one consolidated list of everything assigned to you that still needs to be done.

If you're overseeing multiple teams, grouping by project gives you a side-by-side picture of where things stand without opening a single issue.

How to add the gadget to your Jira dashboard

  1. Open your Jira dashboard (or create a new one).

  2. Click Add gadget.

  3. Search for Checklists Progress.

  4. Click Add gadget.

Then configure your filters and grouping — the gadget starts showing data immediately.

The Checklists Progress dashboard gadget is available now in our Checklists for Jira (Templates & Automation) app. You can find full details on filters, grouping options, and configuration in the documentation.

We are looking forward to you trying this feature: let us know what you think!
