🔥 Supercharge Your Jira Highlights: New Features That Help You Focus Faster

Ever feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with all the changes in Jira?

With dozens (sometimes hundreds!) of updates happening daily across your projects, it can be tough to spot the ones that really need your attention — like overdue issues, blockers, or tasks missing key information.

That’s exactly the problem we set out to solve with Deep Activity – Smart Change History & Reports for Jira.

And now, we’ve made it even better.

We’ve introduced a set of new features to help you highlight the most important updates in just a couple of clicks, so you can stay focused, act faster, and never miss a critical change.

🔥 What's New in Highlights

If you've used Jira’s built-in highlights before, you know they’re useful but a bit limited. Deep Activity expands on that idea, giving you more control and flexibility without adding complexity.

Here’s what’s new:

đź’ˇ Smarter Highlighting Options
You can highlight based on:

  • Activity-based changes (e.g. field edits, transitions)

  • JQL queries

  • Custom conditions (like overdue dates or empty fields)

Setup is quick, and you can fine-tune rules to match your team's exact needs.

🎨 More Visual Styles
Customize how highlights look so nothing important goes unnoticed:

  • More color options for text and background

  • Icons to quickly spot status at a glance

  • Borders to draw attention without cluttering your view

đź‘€ Live Preview
No more guessing  see exactly how your highlights will appear before you apply them.

⚙️ Simple Rule Management
We’ve made managing your highlights easier:

  • Click ✏️ to edit a rule

  • Use 🗑️ to remove it instantly

  • Enable/disable highlights with a toggle (no need to delete them)

🔍 Example Use Cases

Here are just a few ways highlights can help you stay focused:

  • đź”´ Overdue work → Highlight rows red when Due Date is before today

  • âš« Blocked tasks → Grey row when Status is "Blocked"

  • 🟡 Unassigned work → Yellow cell when Assignee is empty

  • 🟢 Missing estimates → Green row when Story Points are empty

  • 🔵 Top priorities → Blue cell when Priority is “Highest”

Why It Matters

Highlights are more than visual decoration  they’re a simple, effective way to guide your attention where it’s needed most.

With these new features in Deep Activity, you can quickly find key updates, make better decisions, and keep your team aligned  without getting lost in the activity feed.
