How DGProlink simplifies resource reservation in Jira and JSM with Apwide Booking

We have recently published a new article highlighting how DGProlink solved their resource management challenges using Apwide Booking, and I thought it would be a great resource to share with the Atlassian Community.

After winning both Codegeist and Apptoberfest with the Booking App, we are seeing a growing wave of interest from teams looking for a practical Jira booking system. I want to make sure everyone knows this solution exists and can benefit from it.

DGProlink described the challenges that many organizations face daily: double bookings, lack of visibility, and scattered spreadsheets to manage rooms, devices, desks, consultants, or shared equipment. They needed straightforward resource booking for Jira that worked inside their existing Atlassian workflows, without external tools or extra calendars. Apwide Booking became that central point of truth.

Centralizing bookings inside Jira

One of the key strengths of Apwide Booking is that it allows teams to schedule rooms, devices, Jira Assets, and many other resources directly from Jira work items. This eliminates tool switching and turns Jira into a complete resource scheduling platform. For release and environment managers, this means test labs, shared servers, sandbox environments, and hardware can be managed within their Jira resource management process.

DGProlink highlighted the value of booking through Jira issues: approvals, automation, conflict detection, notifications, and clear visibility. Teams can manage Jira room booking, Jira equipment booking, and other shared resources with the same consistency as any other work item.

Governance and accessibility

DGProlink needed a solution that worked for both technical and non technical users. Apwide Booking allowed them to introduce structure and governance without adding complexity. The process remains simple and guided, no matter if the request is for a meeting room, a test device, a desk, or a consulting slot.

This structured approach is particularly valuable for teams who run monthly or quarterly releases and rely on precise coordination. Removing spreadsheets reduces the risk of miscommunication and double work.

Making the most of your Jira investment

Another important point highlighted in the article is how extending Jira, rather than adopting a separate booking tool, maximises an organisation's existing investment. Everything stays in the same ecosystem, and teams avoid creating silos.

For operations, environment management, and release coordination, having bookings integrated with change requests, deployments, and approvals creates a unified view of ongoing work.

Booking App runs on Atlassian, and also includes a Rovo Agent to help your users book resources.

Final thoughts

The DGProlink story is a clear example of how organizations can move away from disconnected spreadsheets and adopt a complete Jira booking system that supports their daily operations. Resource scheduling becomes visible, structured, and part of the workflow rather than an external chore.
