From Jira Reporting to Confluence Integration — How Report X Brings It All Together

Last week in my article, we explored how Report X empowers teams to go beyond Jira’s out-of-the-box reports, creating multi-level, customizable insights aligned with real project workflows.

This week, I’m taking the next step. Because while Jira is the backbone for work item tracking and project progress, most teams also rely heavily on Confluence for documentation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Reports often live in Jira, while documentation, Knowledge Bases stay in Confluence — and that separation means a lot of context-switching. Our goal at Optimizory with Report X has always been to simplify reporting across the Atlassian ecosystem, and that’s why we built seamless Confluence integration.

Why Bring Jira Reports into Confluence?

Teams don’t work in isolation. Project updates, requirements, and release plans need to be visible in confluence spaces where more than just Jira users can see them. By embedding live Jira reports into Confluence, Report X eliminates the need for exports, duplicate updates or screenshots.

With this integration, teams can:

  • Keep requirement documents always in sync with Jira.

  • Build project roadmaps in Confluence that update automatically.

  • Track releases and milestones without leaving the confluence page.

  • Customize reports so only the most important fields (status, assignee, priority, dates) appear.

  • Maintain a single source of truth across tools.

How It Works — A Simple Workflow

Adding a Jira report into Confluence using Report X is quick and intuitive:

  1. Copy your shareable Report X report link from Jira.

ShareURL.png.     2. Open the Confluence page where you want it.

      3. Insert an iFrame macro using /iframe.

      4. Paste the link, adjust width (100%) and height (~640px).

      5. Publish — and now your Confluence page displays live Jira data. 🎉

No syncs, no exports, no copy-paste. Just real-time data exactly where your team needs it.

Why This Matters for Teams

Bringing Jira reports into Confluence helps teams save time, reduce tab-hopping, and ensure that everyone — even non-Jira users — has access to the latest project insights. It also transforms Confluence pages into true project dashboards, whether for release notes, requirement documents, or high-level roadmaps.

The outcome? Less hassle, more clarity, better collaboration.

What’s Next in the Series

Report X started as a solution for flexible Jira reporting. Now it’s helping teams bridge Jira and Confluence into one connected experience. In the next article, we’ll continue this journey by exploring more ways Report X can simplify reporting workflows across your Atlassian toolkit.

If you’re ready to explore, you can find Report X on the Atlassian Marketplace.
