Dear Atlassian Community,
We’d like to share some important news with all users of SnapAssign and SnapMetrics – Real Time Analytics.
As many of you may already know, Atlassian has announced that Forge will become a paid service starting January 1st, 2025. This is a significant change for the entire ecosystem and will affect all partners and developers building on Forge — including us at Snapbytes.
From the very beginning, we promised to keep SnapAssign and SnapMetrics – Real Time Analytics free as long as Forge remained free. Thanks to that, many teams had the chance to explore, test, and adopt these tools without any cost barrier. We’re truly proud of what we’ve built together with you.
However, this new policy introduces changes we cannot ignore. One of them is the new “range limit” approach Atlassian is implementing, which sets stricter limitations on free apps. This means that even if we wanted to keep our apps free, their performance and reliability would be compromised. And compromising the experience you rely on has never been an option for us.
That’s why, after careful consideration, we’ve decided that we too must move SnapAssign and SnapMetrics – Real Time Analytics to a paid model. This will allow us to:
We understand that this might not be the easiest news to receive. That’s why we want to emphasize: we are not making this shift overnight.
👉 Both SnapAssign and SnapMetrics – Real Time Analytics will remain free until the end of Q1 2026, fully covered by our own budget.
We are doing this so that:
At Snapbytes, our mission has always been clear: to help teams work smarter, faster, and with more confidence inside Jira. Moving to a paid model is not just about covering costs — it’s about ensuring the sustainability of the apps you already trust and giving us the ability to deliver even more value in the future.
We deeply appreciate your trust and understanding, and we’re confident this transition will allow us to keep innovating for you.
With gratitude,
The Snapbytes Team
