“I’m currently transitioning into an Agile Project Management role. What are some common challenges you faced when starting, and how did you overcome them?”

- Shift from command and control to servant leadership. In an agile context we avoid controlling every possible task, but we focus on empowering the teams so they can control the work necessary to fulfil the objectives.

- Adjust to iterative planning. We don't do a big design, big planning up-front. A high-level planning is interesting but needs to be flexible, because detailed planning is done iteratively.

- Measure success differently. Success is not only measured if scope, time and cost are met. There are other metrics like velocity, lead time, cycle time, and those of success (customer satisfaction, employee NPS, etc.).

And last but not least, other important points: handle resistance to change, understand your new role, agile tooling and reporting, etc.
