Can you multi-select and drag on the agile board?

Our Ops team have lots of issues on their agile board, and are forever moving them around (so far, so good).

They would like to be able to multi-select and drag between columns. The UI suggests you can do this (it lets you shift-click to multi-select) but when you drag them to another status nothing happens. Am I missing something here, or does the UI promise more than it delivers?!

From what I can tell, it looks like it might have been supported on the class boards? https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Modfying+Multiple+('Bulk')+Issues
