Has anyone tips or suggestions about if and how you can plan individual resources in JIra.
To explain a bit more. We use Jira for our development teams and that works fine. We use different planning tools for other environments in the company where one specialists works on more projects.
Question is: How can we manage one individual resource and how can we plan his/her capacity taking into account the availability and (part-time / fulltime / holidays).
I'm not interested in plug ins but I want to know what is possible with the functionalities in Jira Premium.
Thanks for your answer, but indeed this does not meet the requirements. I should make every individual a seperate team to manage on individual level, but that looks artificial and will probably have other issues. Jira is made for scrum, I do understand, so I know that it may be not realistic to expect the individual resource planning
Do i need to create teams? What happens if I plan with individual resources?
I'm still wandering how to manage individual resources. Am I correct that the lowest level of detail is a team and not an individual?
Changing team velocity based on availability of team members is not working for me.
I need to see the workload of individual assignees. Can that be managed in Jira premium / advanced roadmaps?
You will need a 3rd party plugin like Tempo planner/timesheets or bigPicture for capacity planning. There are more in the marketplace.
That is not what I like, and what I would expect. Since Jira advertises that with Advanced Roadmaps Jira supports both "worlds"; Agile and waterfall I would expect that it is possible to see resource allocation and workload on " assignee" level. Cannot be that difficult to build into Advanced Roadmaps.
Is there anything on the roadmap?
Hello @jeroen_wilmes ,
Please allow me to step in to add some additional context to the individual capacity tracking in Advanced Roadmaps.
The application was originally designed with the ability to include individual team member capacity tracking but due to overwhelming feedback and requests from our customer base, the functionality was removed in favor of team level tracking.
I discussed this in a bit more detail in the following thread that I recommend checking out for the full context:

@Earl McCutcheon , thanks for your information. It is a pitty to read the status, although I do understand that the team has to look for priorities. For us it means that Advance Roadmaps now is not longer considered as option.
