How do I show the months in the schedule view?

I recently started using portfolio. I've got several initiatives and am looking at the "target schedule" report. I see the orange dotted line that indicates the current date. But I do NOT see any blocks for the months of the year, or for sprints, or anything else. How do I get the months to show up?
