Can't create new epics in Jira Plans

Hi,

I've created a plan for two projects, supporting initiatives (one level up then epic), epics, stories, etc. One initiative is already created in one of the projects.

In Jira Plans, I can create a new initiative, however, the option to create an epic or a story is grayed. Any idea why?

Do you have the necessary permissions to create issues in those projects?

Are you able to create new Epics from the project directly?

Have you been granted the Advanced Roadmaps User Advanced Roadmaps permission?

The answer to questions1 +3 is Yes, I have administrator access 

I managed to resolve the issue somehow, either by updating the issue schema or by creating the first epic in the project backlog... I 'm not sure
