STATUS field doesn't work as drop down in our JIRA portfolio view. Any help

Another pain point during status review meetings is...not being able to see the options in the STATUS field drop down and not being able to update them within Portfolio view. Anyone has suggestions?

Yes the drop down values differ based on the Issue Type.

Updating status from the plan is a frequently requested feature, and something we're looking into.

For some context, the reason it's not currently possible is because many status-change workflows have required fields that must be set, and we don't yet have a good way to deal with those cases.

@Swarna Chilakala it's one of our highest requested features, and we're already investigating how it might be possible to do it. However, I can't give any time estimate for when this might be done, because the investigation in progress could still yield blockers and the work to implement it has not been scheduled.
