What is a workflow?
A Jira workflow is a set of statuses and transitions that an issue moves through during its lifecycle. It typically represents a process in your organization, and can be something like going from Backlog → Done. There are in-built workflows you can use without making any changes, and if they work for you, that’s awesome. But the real power of Jira comes from the fact you can create workflows of your own, customized based on your unique needs. That’s our goal here: to ensure every team — including yours — can represent their work in Jira.
What are we working on and what’s this group for?
Right now, we’re working on bringing the team-managed workflow closer in feature parity to the company-managed workflow editor. Eventually, we’re planning to have a single workflow editor that combines the team-managed workflow editor’s ease of use with the company-managed workflow editor’s power and flexibility.
In this group, we’ll post product updates, ask for feedback on early designs, share ideas, and more. We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please use this space to give us feedback and ask questions.
