Confluence and Jira with a Client

Eric Scheberl March 8, 2024

I've been watching videos and beginning the set up for our first client in Jira and Confluence any suggestions on the best way to see a snapshot of Jira in Confluence for clients that wouldn't make sense to give a Jira License?

Any tips are welcome on the set up side as well.

Hi @Eric Scheberl

Certainly, it is necessary to allocate Jira user licenses to the users if they want to see Jira data in Confluence via macros. Consequently, individuals viewing the output of the Jira macro in Confluence will only have visibility into what they are authorized to see as a Jira user.

If you prefer not to assign a license, an alternative approach would be to include a screenshot of the Jira data on the Confluence pages. However, this may prove to be a cumbersome task to manage.

Thanks I was wondering if that might be the conclusion and it is helpful to have your thoughts on this. Thanks!
