It's Thursday!

Couple of weeks ago, I went on a long desired cruise with part of my family. We drove to LA and then sailed off with Carnival to Cabo San Lucas. Also stopped in Ensenada on the way home. It was such a great offline experience. Blue skies, blue ocean, the sunsets AMAZING! I really enjoyed the down time. And I especially enjoyed the soft serve ice cream...

Soooo, tell us about your favorite cruise memory.

I have only been on one cruise in my life and that was a part of the Disney package my wife and I did for our honeymoon.  Much like your last image we found twisted self-serve ice cream after dinner one night, which we had to take advantage of even though we were very full.

One of  the coolest things I got to experience was their exercise room.  I was able to run on a treadmill with a beautiful bay window looking out of the bow of the ship and you could watch the sunrise, it was really neat.

A cruise is WAY different when you have a cabin with a view.  Our first cruise we had an interior cabin with no porthole.  Our second cruise we had a port hole.  Just that little bit of light made a big difference when you're in the room for the limited amount of time you're in there.

It's the little things. 

Similar to @Jimmy Seddonaking a run around the ship in the morning while it's moving, seeing the water all around you was pretty neat too.

I'm looking forward to the next one.

Only been on one and that was over 30 years ago (I'm due for another).  At that age, my favorite part was access to food anytime.  haha  While I'm sure that would be a favorite now as well (booze too 🍹) I think now I would really just enjoy the peace and tranquility of being away from everything and everybody.  There's just something therapeutic about that.  Now I want to book a cruise.  Thanks, @Kristján Geir Mathiesen ! 🚢🛳

I went for a short cruise in Langkawi, Malaysia back in 2012.

Very nice view. We could see a lot of eagles on one of the islands. But the best view was the dolphins swimming in the sea.

I've also went on a cruise at Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin) in South India. The beauty of this place is that you can see the Sun rise and set into the ocean like a big ball of fire.

I'll be taking my first cruise in July 2025 to Alaska! I'm so excited so I'll have to come back to this post and share an experience afterwards. I'll definitely check out the ice cream @Kristján Geir Mathiesen!

I've yet to go on a cruise, but one day, I want to go on a European one during the summer. I heard one goes to all the lovely beaches in Spain, Italy, and Greece. It'd be a dream!

The cruise from Helsinki to Estonia/Tallin on a winter day around -18 celsius degrees, mostly cracking the ice on the surface of the sea, rather than floating peacefully :)

A three hour cruise... a three hour cruise.. (dating myself?) 

I have only been on one cruise, a huge ship out of Florida through a few places in the Caribbean, but the important part was we brought the entire extended family. It was amazing to have time on the boat with the people we loved. I wasn't sure I would like the boat ride, but it was great. Would do it again anytime.
