As many people here know very well, I left my normal working life and home country of UK in 2022 and moved to a semi-nomadic life, with a focus on my true passion, the natural world and conservation...It is now my life and am close to reaching the perfect balance of work, nature and conservation.
My wife and I started our journey by heading to the Caribbean for 5 months in Grenada, specifically its smaller island of Carriacou. This island is often referred to as the safest and friendliest island in the Caribbean and for good reason. The island is truly beautiful and the people are incredible.
In the time we were there, we called it home, we really lived the Kayak life and we made many friends.
Carriacou will always have a special place in my heart 💙
Here are a few photos from my time on Carriacou
One thing to be thankful for is that the loss of life has been minimal, it could have been far more devastating. My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones.
It really hits hard when I see homes of friends, the school their kids went to, the places I would eat, drink, socialise all destroyed.
The people of Carriacou are beautiful, resilient and optimistic but they need help...
The sister isle of Petite Martinique and also Union Island of St Vincent and the Grenadines have suffered similar devastation
The government of Grenada have put out some information:
If you are able to help, please do. Please share the information with as many people as you can.
There are a lot of local groups across USA, Canada and UK setting up shipments of items.
I will update shortly with a list of places you can donate items to that will be shipped to the islands...
