Unknow User Requests To Join My Private Jira

Peter Freyler January 14, 2022

Hi there,

I use atlassian jira/confluence to stay in practice (Germany).

Today I've got an e-mail from an unknown person (don't have any contacts to (?) Mexico - sure we're working on the www internet :-) )

alejandra.estrada@puntoclave.com.mx

She wants to join my jira account.

Instantly I changed the user management as shown in article

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trust-Security-questions/Unknown-users-in-my-Atlassian-directory/qaq-p/1819501

I didn't import any lists or informations via confluence or jira.

Is this a fraud?

Best regards

Peter

Welcome to the Community!

Yes, that does sound like spam, phishing or fraud, and you've done exactly the right thing - reviewed your security and shut down any possible attack routes.

Technically, you didn't need to, you were already secure enough as you or other admins would have to approve your attacker's access, but you have now stopped your admins even getting the requests, which is more secure and saves their time too!
