The new feature to make any card a checkbox is terrible, it hurts my eyes to see slide animation any time I hover over multiple cards one by one. I don't use the cards as checkboxes, so I don't need them. I don't know what the product team had in mind, but that is a horrible experience. I wonder if it can be turned off?
Edit: I found out how to turn it off, and the question can be removed. I don't get it why I should do this work for every single board though. You have to make this feature experimental, and it has to be turned off by default or there should be a possibility to turn it off for all boards. It was a very frustrating user experience.
If you do a search and open your card from the search results dropdown - you are still going to see the card as a checkbox and it will behave as a checkbox even if you already turned off this feature in the board settings.
@Константин Бирюков thank you for catching this bug. We do test but sometimes even we miss some things. I will let the team know so we can address ASAP.
Except OP did not actually say how they turned it off...Will someone please share how to do so? It's incredibly painful to see this animation when mousing over every card.
UPDATE: I found the answer via another community post. Here it is:
Marking cards as complete on the front of cards can be turned off for individual boards via the board menu. If this setting is turned off, you can still open the card and mark it as complete on the top left of the card. Only a board admin can configure this setting.
Open the board menu
Select Settings
Under Complete Status, select Show complete status on card front to turn it off.

Please share how you turned this off.
This feature causes 2x the work to update any card.

The problem is when you remove the feature to STOP the stikeline it removed the option to check the date off - madness and with little thought for the feature that we use to mark off a task that has movement and further processes down the line in our businesses

The answer to this question is in the user's post; they added it as an edit.

@Константин Бирюков Atlassian doesn't normally remove questions. Other users may find this useful, and Atlassian can refer to your question as feedback. Thanks for letting Atlassian know! Atlassian team members do read these. Additionally, you can submit feedback directly to them if you'd like.

Thank you, @DiMaggio Tucci
Also, Atlassian Dev/QA Team has to test such radical features better. If you do a search and open your card from the search results dropdown - you are still going to see the card as a checkbox and it will behave as a checkbox even if you already turned off this feature in the board settings. Overall, this feature introduced a lot of inconsistency. It even feels like Atlassian Team just wanted to bring some attention to them by realizing this feature or it has been outsourced to someone else, since it is implemented with 0 knowledge about how users can use Trello boards.

@Alex Thank you guys for integrating with the online forum like you do! It's rare to see many companies do that nowadays.
