Teams In Trello

Mark_Eckhardt May 3, 2020

Is there a way to create a Template for a Team with boards that I can copy whenever I have to create a new team. It would be great to be able to just copy a Team template rather that have to create a new team from scratch each time around.

Thanks for your help!

M.

@Mark_Eckhardt I think you might be using Teams in a way they're not intended and while it works, you might run into problems further down the track as a result.

Can you provide a brief explanation of what you use Teams for/what they represent and how you have things set up? There might be a better way to achieve what you're after.

We create a team for every new division in our company. teams run on the same operating systems/philosphy that we've captured on 5 boards. I am hoping that we can create a Team template with those boards that we can simply copy/replicate every time we create a new division.

@Mark_Eckhardt what you're probably better off doing is upgrading a single team to Business Class, create Collections for each division, and then creating a set of Template boards in the team, these are boards people can see and copy but not join and edit:

You could just manually copy each of the 5 templates each time you create a new Collection, or if this is cumbersome you could create a board that manages your templates/collections and automate this through the API, it would look something like this in Trellinator:
