Starting with the most recent release (February 6, 2025), now as I browse around my Trello board using the macOS desktop Trello client, mousing over each card as I focus my attention on it, each card's label slides to the right and back, which is surprisingly distracting.
I do understand the motivation for the checkbox feature, and I can see how it would be useful to a certain class of users, but the animation that accompanies it is getting old really fast.
I haven't minded the revisions to the Trello UX in the past, and I am quite open to change, but this one is a bit over the top.
Imagine if lists in every app hopped around randomly in response to mouse-over events?
Other than this issue, I am a big fan of Trello and I have always enthusiastically recommended it.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Hi @Drew Olbrich - Thanks for your candor here. There is a board setting to turn off the animation on the card front for a particular board. If you would like to see the check circle on the card front but want to disable the animation you can use your device settings to turn on reduce motion and the check circles will appear on all card fronts.
More details here in this doc -> https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/mark-a-card-as-complete/
Thank you for responding Alex, that's exactly what I wanted. ❤️
btw, while I appreciate having the ability to disable this feature, if you are looking for UX feedback, please know that turning it off for each of my 23 boards required 115 mouse clicks. This was not a pleasant user experience.
