There is a new update to attachments rolling out. Some members of my team have it, and many don't. So I'm hoping we can get ahead of this rollout and maybe stop it from happening.
The update involves the visual of attachments on a card. It used to be that you could see the background of the board, with the whole card title, and what board and list it was on below it. The new version is just a text block that only shows the first few words of the card name (not the whole thing), and which list it's on. In order to see any more detail (the full card name, or even what board it's on) you have to hover over each card with your mouse and it pops up to the side.
This is completely unhelpful. One of the main ways I track that status of orders in my business is looking at a card and seeing all of the attached cards at the same time. I can easily tell the status of the order based on which boards the different cards are on, and which lists they're in on those boards.
The original version was so easy to tell where things were because I could see the board background behind each card. That immediately told me that status of an order. With the new version, I would have to hover over each attachment to see what board it's on. What if I have 15 cards attached? It will take so much longer and it is a complete disruption to our workflow.
I'm posting here in hopes that enough people will agree the new version is unhelpful, that Atlassian/Trello developers will go back to the original version.
Abby, we're working on improving the interface for all the attachments, hence the change. We totally agree with you that the current iteration isn't suitable when a Trello card is an attachment on another card. We should have a solution for you in the next day or two. Thanks for bearing with us!
That's great news, Gaurav. Thank you so much! I always appreciate how responsive the Atlassian team is and how you make sure to listen to user's feedback.
