Is it possible to write comments on a trello card and have it reflect in a specific slack channel?

Rafael Yanez August 18, 2023

At this time, the comments in Trello for any card are going to a slack channel labeled "trello-tlf" which is our company. However, we have created a specific channel for each list to keep the conversations/comments isolated from other lists. When we make comments in trello, regardless of the list or card, they seem to be going to the "trello-tlf" channel. How can we have the comments go into a specific channel?

Hi @Rafael Yanez Welcome...

The default slack integration is a little limited but in order for you to notify different slack channels or members, you can use Trello automation.

Please check out this guide...

Hi @Rafael Yanez welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Have you read this article? https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/the-trello-app-for-slack/

Specifically this section:

"Getting notified in Slack of changes to boards and cards

You can get notified in Slack of changes to Trello boards and cards automatically. To do so, enable the Slack Power-Up on the board you are interested in, then click the Slack button that should now be at the top right of the board. From there you can configure what changes you want to be alerted to and where in Slack.

After you have authorized with at least one Slack Workspace you will be brought to the new alert setup page. Here you can select which Slack Workspace you want the alerts to go to, which channel (we support channels, private channels, as well as direct messages)."

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Ash
