I purchased a licence key so I can export boards. Trello still limits my export to 5 cards. I have a licence key, but unclear if I need to do something with it.

Is this the license key you purchased from? If yes, as these are maintained by third party software, we don't work directly with them so any questions regarding these Power Ups are best addressed by their own support team.

I highly recommend that you reach out to their support team from the link above. 

As for Trello's board export, you can export your boards or cards from Trello which will export all the details for that board or card and the last 1000 actions for that board or card, here's a link you can use to export your board:
