I can't add new lists or boards

I am trying out Trello Free.

I have created 1 board with 6 lists. When I try to create a seventh List , nothing happens - well there's a momentary jiggle of the existing lists, but when it settles, there's no new list.

When I try to create a new Board, I give it a name but the cursor indicates I can't do that (red slashed circle) when I mouse over the Create Board button.  There's a message visible: "Checking Visibility Permissions".

Any ideas anyone?

(Win10 64bit, Chrome, 32G RAM)

OK I wandered off to try another product, and when I came back to my Trello tab I had a new Home page showing, like a 'desktop' view I had not seen before,  and I was then able to create a new board and new list.

I'm curious as to what was going on, but I'll just get  back to my tryout and hope it was a one-off.
