Lara March 6, 2024

We have two guests who no longer work at our organisation and were admins. How do I delete them?

If the person you want to remove is the admin for a board in the Workspace, or if they're a member on a board that you don’t have access to, you may not be able to remove them if you're using a Free Workspace. However, Free Workspaces in Trello are getting some new admin tools that will allow you to fully remove any member or guest. These tools will be available by the end of March.

If you want to remove someone before then, you can do that by starting a free trial of Premium (no credit card required) if you haven’t used a trial previously. That will give you full admin capabilities so that you can remove any member from any board.

Thanks @Caity  I will wait until end of March for the new tools to be available so that I can remove the old admin guests. Much appreciated

Hello @Lara

The posts on your question indicate you are using the Free subscription. Guest accounts are not available with the Free subscription as the number of Guest accounts allowed is based on the number of Paid/Licenses user you have.

Are you actually using a Free instance or are you using a Paid subscription?

Hi @Trudy Claspill Thank you. We are on the free subscription. I have been able to remove other guests, however not the ones that are 'admins'. Not too sure what we can do next. Thanks again for any advice you might have

Did you downgrade to a free subscription from a paid subscription?

What happens when you try to remove the accounts? Do you get an error?

Can you provide a screen image for where you are trying to remove the guests? Obscure confidential information of course.

Hi @Trudy Claspill

No one can remember if we had a paid subscription originally - it might have been a paid one back when we started and then we would have downgraded to the free one.

Here is a screen shot - When I try to remove abox and janderson, the box with what workspace they are on pops up, however there is no option to 'remove' them.

Hello Lara,

You have posted your question in a community for the Atlassian Confluence product. Is this actually related to Confluence? I'm wondering if it might be related to the Trello product instead.

In my internet searches the phrase single-board guest is used in the Trello documentation.

Hi @Trudy Claspill oh yes, its for Trello. Apologies, I didn't see that I had added my question to Confluence! I'll look into the doc link you have sent, thank you

I am going to move your question to the Trello Questions forum, so that folks with more Trello knowledge will find it.
