Hi @shivkrathi, welcome to the community!

Based on the documentation, I believe that's not possible. Since you're assigning the task to someone, it's the best practice to have only one person accountable for that item. The workaround will be creating a separate checklist item if that's the case.

"Why can’t I assign more than one person to a checklist item? You can only assign one person to an advanced checklist item. Advanced checklists are more about accountability and finer granularity. If multiple people are assigned, there’s less accountability and more confusion about who’s supposed to be doing what. If more than one person need to do a particular task we suggest creating separate checklist items for each individual. That way, every person will see the task in ‘Your Items’ and can mark their contributions complete when they’re done!"

I hope that answers your question.

@shivkrathi

The advanced checklist limits you to one person per item.

@shivkrathiI totally agree with you. Not being able to dedicate several persons to the same task in the checklist is not great.

Why making several checklists for each people is not an option : because when you have a very dynamic flow of checklist to engage the team to work together in a very short time, depending on the number of tasks and team, it's way better to make only one list so everybody can see where we are at. Specially when we can transform a checkbox item into card.

It's very logic we want to add several team members to 1 checkbox as it means : 2 or 3 persons will have to consult each other and work together for this task. So the answer saying each one will be able to check his own list is not relevant if the task means working together closely for it.

Trello cards are great for managing project steps, but into each step, there is sometime a very tight planning to achieve it and checklist give us the opportunity to handle the tasks subdivisions very efficiently as it's all grouped and clear for everybody because it's grouped in 1 list.

I really vote for the ability to put several members on a task or to be able to create members groups and add 1 member group to the checklist, it's less flexible but it requires fewer changes from Trello.
