Please advise. I have a number of rules set on a board, and they suddenly stopped working. I disabled and enabled the rules again without success. Could it have something to do with the new feature - Button to show order complete?
Thank you,
Nadine Galarza
Nadine, how scary! Are these rules being triggered by the same type of event? (ie. when the due date is marked complete, etc.)?
That's my question since the rules stopped working this week it seems and the new feature was implemented this week as well?

Sorry - I just reread your comment - and the answer is no, the rules that stopped working have nothing to do with due dates.

Gotcha. Then chances are, this issue has nothing to do with the changes that are rolling out.
Do these rules have anything in common with each other?

These rules are for when moving from one list to another, certain labels and cover actions are to take place.

when a card is added into the list "Deposit received / Terms added. PO to be dated / emailed to XAF LIC", add the yellow "PO TO BE EMAILED" label to the card, remove the dark red "Hold Code C01/C03/C05" label from the card, add the light lime "Fabric to be cut" label to the card, add the light orange "Substrate to be Cut" label to the card, and remove the cover image from the card

that is an example of one of the rules that is affected

Have you, by any chance, made any changes to the name(s) of your lists? Even as simple as an added space?

No I have not.

Is there a way to reactivate these rules? I've tried to select edit and save to try to get them working again but that didn't work. I also tried adding a button to the rule and when I select the button, I get a notification that it's successful yet nothing changes in the card

Give a try to recreating one of them from scratch. Disable the earlier rule and then test the new rule. Does that make a difference?
I'm not sure why this happens, but on occasion, I have had a similar experience and creating the rule again fresh resolved it. Certainly not ideal if there are a lot of rules affected, but better than nothing!

@Nadine Sharma-Galarza Also, check the Activity Log under Automations and see if anything is reported there if you haven't already.
Are your other automations running?
If there is an automation error, it will usually show under the Activity Log. Also, it will show you if you've run out of automation runs for the month.

@DiMaggio Tucci good call! For some reason, I thought she said something about checking the activity log!

@Kelly Gabel Now that you mention it, she did say that she got a success message, so I would think that would mean nothing is logged. Still, I guess it doesn't hurt to check!

Hello @DiMaggio Tucci Thank you for the suggestion. I checked the activity log and I do see where another rule was listed as over maximum (never knew I had limited moves so thank you for that!).
However, the two most important and detailed Rules stopped working on Jan 31st it seems since I don't see any more movement of those rules after then. There was no notification of those rules saying over maximum # either.

@Nadine Sharma-Galarza If I'm reading your comment right, that makes sense, as February 1st would start a new period and automations since then should have run. Glad you were able to see that! If I misunderstood and they are still not working, let me know.

@DiMaggio Tucci Yes, the rules have stopped working; the last log of them running was Jan 31st. I was hoping to find the logical reason for the problem but seems I will have to recreate them when I have time as they do save a lot of manual steps. I appreciate yours and Kelly's time and input.

@Nadine Sharma-Galarza Of course! Sorry you have to go through re-creating them. Let us know if you still have any issues,

@Nadine Sharma-Galarza sure thing! Total bummer to have to recreate, and hopefully this doesn't happen again!

@DiMaggio Tucci @Kelly Gabel I recreated one of my rules and it works! That's the good news. Not so good news is, I will have to review and recreate other rules that stopped.

Your support was extremely kind and thoughtful. Thank you again.

@Nadine Sharma-Galarza Ya...I know it's a pain to have to do a workaround like recreating the rules...but it's definitely better than having to do all of the work manually!! Happy to help :)

At first glance it seems to be a problem with the limit of automatic actions in the free and standard version. If your plan is premium the problem will be different. I understand that you have properly checked that you did not change the name of any list or board... I am sorry for your disappointment.

@ACE I'll look into the # of Rules & actions. Could you verify - each rule has its set # of automatic actions or do they all add up as a group and have a set limit (my current version of Trello is the Free version).
Our sister company has the paid version but I don't think they use automations as yet.

I think what @ACE is referring to is the limits for workflow runs in the Free and Standard workspaces.
If any of your rules in the same workspace are running, then these limits aren't the problem.
