I am using a trial of premium and checklist items are not showing up on my Trello Home Page. Please advise.

You need to be a member of these checklists and its required a due date, could you check this information?

Am I member automatically of a checklist that is in a list that I started in a board that I set-up?

No, you need to assign yourself to the checklist item to be a member of it! Advanced checklist is part of our Standard or above plans.
