Hi! I am working with Trello and I have 9 automations setup in my account mainly for my task list (due dates in lists today, tomorrow and later). Even though this is not much (I have seen people who have many more automations in Trello within the free account), I am reaching the automation runs quota very soon and I am wondering why.
How does this work exactly - what is the difference between automation runs and operations? What can I do to have these 9 automations running the whole month without reaching the quota? I think I must be doing something wrong or hidden automations are running in my account.
Thank you,
Lizanne
The automation run quota is not on the number of automations created but the number of times they are triggered. I will give an example.
Scenario 1
Scenario 2
If you are using the free Trello version, the limit may seem like a lot but it is pretty low
My experience is that the limit on Trello Standard is enough for most use cases and on average will work in a typical 2-4 board setup without you hitting the limit.
Unlimited Automations is the main reason why I choose to have Trello Premium, it removes any of this issue..
Thank you for your response! I have had these actions before but they are not in my account since a few weeks because wasn't necessary. In scenario 1 I only have the action:
when the due date is marked as complete in a card by anyone, move the card to the bottom of list "Done"
This will happen maybe 10 times a day.
This is the only automation in the 'rules' section and only active on one board. Other boards don't have automations.
Maybe it's possible the deleted automation is still running in the background (from scenario 1)?
All the other actions (scheduled and due date) all have only one trigger and one action. If I count manually my quota should not run low so quickly.
Only think I can think of is this one:
Every day at 11pm, archive all the cards in the list "Done"
If there are 10 cards, are these 10 automation runs (from the 250 automation runs)?
I still cannot tell the difference in the automation runs and operations in this.
Thanks!
