For one of my clients, the account that they have running their automations has had an update where linked cards in checklists have an update view.
This change is only on that 1 account, all of the other members of the board above have the old style. I have had a look at all of my other workspaces and accounts and can't see this anywhere
Are Trello rolling this out to limited users? Has anyone else seen this update?
Yes indeed! These hover previews should now be out to 100% of users. In order to see the Smartlink and the hover preview, a person would need to have permission to view that task in Jira as well.
If they have permission to view the task in Jira, but you're not seeing the preview, double-check in an incognito browser or a second browser with all extensions disabled. Sometimes those can trip up the Smartlink previews.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch through trello.com/contact and we can help take a closer look as well!
Hi Cody,
I'm really confused, what does this have to do with Jira?
These links are Trello card links.
I have tried on another account and I can see that the old style are still showing, I have logged out and back in and also tried incognito mode but not seeing the new smartlink.

You're totally right, sorry for my confusion there.
I'm seeing the same thing you are in one of my testing accounts, so it looks like this may not quite be at 100% yet. I'll check in with my colleagues and update this thread once I have a bit more detail!

My fault, I apologize. Hover previews for links to Trello cards are currently released to a small subset publicly.
Hover previews for links to other Atlassian products (Confluence, JWM, etc) are fully released publicly. Hover previews for links to Trello cards are on the way though - no definite timeline, but it will be an incremental release as the team gathers feedback.

OK, that 1 account of mine that has it feels very privileged 😀
If they are looking for feedback, I would say that currently they show the listname that the linked card is in, showing the due date and members of the linked card would help.
On the timeline, is there any chance Trello could start being a bit more transparent about the features that are being worked on and the roadmap? Trello (pre-Atlassian) was unbelievably transparent but that is now gone. The official product Atlassian product roadmap, when filtered for Trello just shows enterprise features that are being released across all products.
It actually happened recently that Trello broke something in automation when covertly releasing an update and even the support team struggled to get to the bottom of it.
Surprises can be fun but every Trello user I work with would rather know what features are being worked on instead of them being randomly released to us out of the blue

I can pass that along to the product folks - both the transparency, and the feedback on the hover preview.
I have to admit that I joined the team after acquisition, how were you notified before - blog, newsletter, social? I know the intention is to have the broad strokes on the public roadmap while smaller changes wouldn't necessarily be broadcast. That doesn't mean they don't sometimes have a larger impact though, as you mentioned!

How did they do it before?
In the best way possible...Via a Trello board 😃
