After May, will it be necessary to close all but 10 boards?

With the change to the free tier, in May, what will happen if there are say 15 open boards? Will they stay open and usable or will 5 be randomly closed?

Hi @Michael Rans , free Teams in Trello can have up to 10 open boards, and can upgrade to Business Class or Enterprise for unlimited boards. Existing free Teams with more than 10 open boards will continue to have access to those boards, but will need to upgrade to Business Class to add more boards to the Team.

To help ease into this change, until May 1, 2019, existing free Teams can add up to 10 additional boards without upgrading to Business Class. To get more information about this change, please check out our help docs.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,

Jodi

Hi @Jodi LeBlanc. What do you mean by "continue to have access to those boards"? Do you mean all existing boards will remain open? Or do you mean you have to close some existing boards in order to open other existing boards (so that you have no more than 10 open boards at any one time)?

Thanks Michael for your reply below, I would think that that would mean you can still use them, otherwise they would have specified that they would need to be closed/archived. It is almost like existing teams would be grandfathered to have more than the 10 boards. I will double check with the Trello team to be sure.

Thanks,

Jodi

Thanks Jodi. It would be great to have this confirmed by Trello team as it makes a big difference.

@Michael Rans Hey, Michael! Just wanted to confirm what Jodi had said — all existing boards remain.

@Erica Moss Just to confirm, all existing boards will remain open and fully usable - we won't have to close or have closed any of the boards we currently have? Sorry to be pedantic but I want to make sure I relay the right information to my team.
