I really like the interactive CBTs that are available on Atlassian University. I was wondering what tool was used to build them?
We custom built it using jQuery and jQuery dialogs. It serves up content via JSON coming from a content management system. It is flexible and can be inserted into any webapp to play lessons.
We first introduced it back in 2009
http://ajaxian.com/archives/jira-now-has-a-live-walk-through-demo-using-jquery
And have been continuously improving it since then.
There have recently been some products released that cover some of the same functionality. See http://www.walkme.com or https://taurus.io/
Hope this helps!
Hello,
I too really enjoy the inner-workings and organization of Atlassian University. Due to the age of this question, I would like to reconfirm that there is no blueprint, macro or 3rd party plugin that provides similar capabilities, correct?
Thank you,
Jeff

Hey there James!
I'm the founder of Taurus that Mark mentioned in his comment. Taurus is still in its closed beta at the moment, so if you hopped over to our site you probably noticed you weren't able to sign up. This is a couple weeks late, but if you're still looking for a solution, send me an email at hello@taurus.io and I'll jump you to the front of the line. ;)
