Hey all,
About 50 folks of us had a great time working on our ACP-420 Jira Service Projects certification on Monday! There's some takeaways below, but first I wanted to share the results of our first certification voucher giveaway!
(drumroll!)
Khan is the luckily winner of our first free voucher!
It looks like the ACP-420 certification is getting a makeover. This is good news, since it means the content will be fresh and relate to new features... but also has a few implications for us. The biggest one is we won't be able to sit the exam until after April 15th (meaning my goal of passing by April 1st isn't possible!). While this could be frustrating, it does give us more time to prepare - especially since new content will likely be included.
Check out this blog post for a full detailing of what we covered.
We managed to get through *most* of what I planned! (sorry team vs. company managed projects :D).
Core features
This included understanding the difference between issue and request types, workflows, queues and SLAs. Luckily these are all things I've used before :D
Use Cases
There's a number of different use-cases for Jira Service Management. I'm not sure how much of the exam is taken up by them, but knowing what it can do is important to understand - especially as we work with other team.
Best Practices
There's a lot to using systems like Jira Service Management that aren't the technical skills... it is, however, very easy to forget that! Things like keeping things simple and finding a business use case are really important.
Mapping business requirements
Knowing what the system can do is helpful, but being able to map that to what the business needs is where can really shine. After all, knowing what a button does is one thing, knowing when to press it is something else entirely.
