Can you change the slack integration default behavior for new components

When a new component is created in status page, it is then configured to send notifications to slack channels that configured to get notified for specific component changes (so the default behavior appears to opt new components in. Because of this it sends a notification to all slack channels, where they are configured to send notifications for specific components, that a new component was created.

Can this default behavior be configured differently?

If not, why is this the default behavior as it continues to cause more noise than value.

Thanks for your reaching out to us.

As per the current product architecture, when a new component is added to the statuspage, they are added to the slack channels by design.

This is to ensure that no communication regarding this new component is missed to the said subscribers of the slack channels.

While we do agree with your concern, this functionality is the one that many of our existing customers currently use and expect to occur.

I will reach out to my product team, and update you as soon as possible.

Hey Alec,

I see that you have raised a ticket via our Support channel regarding the same. 

I see that a internal feature request has been raised to look into this config. However, we have no immediate fix or workaround for this config at this time.
