Sometimes you may want to swap your custom domains. This can happen if your company merges with another or your company rebrands. These changes help ensure consistency in your online presence and can support your company's evolving image and goals.
In order to swap your custom domain and avoid any downtime, both of your custom domains must have the same existing CNAME alias configured in DNS.
Please ensure that the DNS entries for your new domain match your existing domain and these entries have been propagated through the internet.
You will need to submit a support ticket with us via support.atlassian.com to move forward. In the ticket, please include the following:
- The current custom domain URL
- The new custom domain URL you wish to swap to
Once we can confirm that the CNAME record is in place, we will be able to able to swap the domain from our end. This process usually takes up to 30 minutes.
Once the domain is swapped, the former domain will act as a redirect to the new domain as long as the CNAME record for the previous domain remains valid on your DNS.
