I recently had an insightful conversation with a startup customer about streamlining their recruitment process with Jira. Here are some ideas from that discussion!

Hiring for multiple types of roles at once? And each type has a distinct process? Consider creating additional issue types in Jira.
For example, you may create one issue type for Manager roles and one for Individual Contributor roles. You can then apply distinct workflows to each type, such as additional interview steps for the Manager type.
Learn how to set up issue types and create multiple workflows in team-managed projects.
Not ready for different issue types and workflows? Use sub-tasks to break down the hiring process into smaller steps under each candidate.
This way, you can keep track of their progress without overwhelming your project with too many issue types.
Many startups initially track candidates in spreadsheets.
But here's a confession: I love me a spreadsheet. π±
If you're also Team Spreadsheet, give Jira's List view a try. Customize columns to display key candidate information and group them by status. You'll get that clear at-a-glance view I know us spreadsheet people love. π€
Love manually creating tickets whenever you get a hiring lead email? Me neither. π ββοΈ
Save yourself time and try setting up automation to create Jira tickets directly from hiring lead emails.
Jira's incoming mail handlers can automate this process, saving you time and ensuring no lead slips through the cracks. You can set this up by following the instructions here.
Remember, the templates are just a starting point. Customize them to fit your startup's evolving needs. Experiment, iterate, and make Jira work for you as your startup grows.
