How you can use Jira for talent recruitment

I recently had an insightful conversation with a startup customer about streamlining their recruitment process with Jira. Here are some ideas from that discussion!

Get a head start with HR templates

Before we dive in, get a head start with Jira's recruitment template. These templates provide a solid foundation that you can tweak to match your unique hiring needs. Check out the HR templates to get started quickly. Plus, they're free! πŸ€‘


Idea 1: Create different workflows for different types of roles

Hiring for multiple types of roles at once? And each type has a distinct process? Consider creating additional issue types in Jira.

For example, you may create one issue type for Manager roles and one for Individual Contributor roles. You can then apply distinct workflows to each type, such as additional interview steps for the Manager type.

Idea 2: Or, keep it simpler with sub-tasks

Not ready for different issue types and workflows? Use sub-tasks to break down the hiring process into smaller steps under each candidate.

Idea 3: Don't forget about the List View

Many startups initially track candidates in spreadsheets.

But here's a confession: I love me a spreadsheet. 😱

Save yourself time and try setting up automation to create Jira tickets directly from hiring lead emails.
