When will SourceTree for Windows update the internal GIT version to 2.XX

Stable GIT for Windows 2.XX is out for several months. But the SourceTree internal GIT version is still 1.95. 

Will it be udpated soon? Is there a specific reason it is kept on 1.95?

We're looking to add support for Git 2.5 at the moment and the work is being tracked at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-3646
