How can I prevent disruptive view changes while using Sourcetree?

Sourcetree for Mac (version 4.1.5 (241)) has several similar view change bugs. The one I'm focused on now is when using the app with the tree view and fluid staging, if I stage specific lines in a file, once I've hit the "stage lines" button, my view disruptively, dramatically changes to the same file, but up above in the staged area.

This completely kills an exceedingly standard workflow of going through a given file and staging lines from multiple places throughout that file. You stage a line or set of lines, and you're thrown up to the staging area. So you have to go back and find the file again in the unstaged area. Repeat, again and again.

Sourcetree is plagued by this kind of bug where the view disruptively changes from under you, with no warning or rhyme to it. It's so extremely confusing and frustrating that I'm thinking of just finding a new application for git, idk.

Does anyone have any help here to give? I'd greatly appreciate it.
