Does installing sourcetree also install git?

Setting up a new machine. Installed Sourcetree ok but GIT is not installed.

Thanks all. That's what I thought. BUT I could not get it to work until installing GIT manually from https://git-scm.com/downloads. Weird, but it's working now so I'm not going to investigate further.

Yes, Sourcetree comes with an embedded version of Git when you install it.

Hi,

you can access the git commands by clicking on the terminal. For version  Sourcetree 2.7 the git embedded  version is 2.16.2

Sourcetree 3.4.8 for Windows comes with an embedded Git v2.35.0. You can install the stand-alone git (current version 2.35.1) and switch Sourcetree to use this version.
