My Windows Password expired after 90 days and I've to reset it. However, as a result of resetting the password, I could not perform any pull request from SourceTree and it was failing due to an authentication issue. The issue was resolved by performing the following steps:

If you are facing sourcetree application authentication issues after system password change can simply delete the passwd file from \AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree and request a pull request from the sourcetree application. That will prompt you to log in to your source tree again and resolve the issue.

Sorry that comment was meant for a different thread.

I created a new app password and used it to Authenticate on Sourcetree. It says Authentication OK, but it still calls out the URL as invalid.

I created a new app password and successfully authenticated it on sourcetree options, but it still calls out the url as invalid:

It's October 2024 and Atlassian can't solve Windows Authentication in a git client.  My employer requires I change my password every month, which means that every month I have to manually delete my "passwd" file from %Appdata% AND open Windows Credential Manager and delete the SourceTree credential.  It's ridiculous.
