Restrict user or group visibility to a single space

Jon Hance June 3, 2012

Hi All -

We have recently set up Confluence as our internal wiki/doc repo, which has worked well. However, we recently started a project where we would like to give an outside contractor permission to access a specific space, but no other. I've tried through both user permissions, as well as groups, to no avail. I am sure this exists, but I am having no luck sorting it out.

Thank you very much, in advance.

Hi Jon,

this should be no problem. How did you organize the visibility of your spaces ? Are they limited to certain users or groups or are they visible for anonymous user ?

How did you give the permission to the contractor ? Did you add him to the specific space, he (she) should see ?

What was the result ? Does the contractor see nothing ? Or anything ? Could he login ? What was the error ?

Best regards

Thomas
