Microsoft Office Macro - Confluence Site

Paul Kern August 16, 2021

We use Confluence in a small team < 10 and would like to use the macro Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Unfortunately, it is not possible to embed this macro. Do I need the paid version for this?

Greetings
Paul

Hello Paul,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Currently, for Microsoft Office files, it is possible to upload the word document for example, on a page and insert the macro Office Word (or Excel) on the same page (or from another page), to display the file on the page, but it is not editable.

In case you would like to show the document/spreadsheet uploaded on the same page, there is no need to choose a page name, just leave it on the box as blank/none. :)

For more information on it, you can also check our documentation Insert Microsoft Office macros.

In case you're looking for editing Microsoft Office files within the page or something similar, we may have some add-ons on our MarketPlace that you can check out and try to see if fits your needs.

If you have a Google Drive spreadsheet or document, for example, you can just copy the link and paste it on your page and display it as embedded, then you should be able to edit it directly on the page.

Hope that helps, Paul! Let us know if you have any other questions regarding it. :)

Cheers,
Jessica
