Unfortunately I am getting this error today on a project that has many issues when trying to see the gant chart:
INFORMATION
Unexpected communication problem between your client/browser and ther JIRA-server: please contact your administrator to check! Calling /plugins/servlet/gantt-issues?projectOrFilterId=project-MGAMES&from=-20w&to=52w&name=gkontos&baseurl=&gadget=false AJAX-request http status = 502
Well, if you want we can continue to find your problem occuring for that project but not others?
Sometimes, environments are complex and very different: it is not that easy in all cases. That's the reason of getting a free evaluation license. Never mind, the important topic is that you get something which is working fine for you.

Frank

Then, it cannot be a timeout problem!
What's in JIRA's logfile, if you execute the call "/plugins/servlet/gantt-issues?projectOrFilterId=project-MGAMES&from=-20w&to=52w&name=gkontos&gadget=false" within your browser?

I get a proxy error. Frankly I think I am going to get the pegeut. After all it looks like VW might have some problems.

Okay, than use the following url to be called once within your browser to specify the related filter for Gantt-Chart of your project:
http://fqdn/plugins/servlet/gantt-settings?action=setFilter&pid=abc&id=xyz
Before hitting enter, please replace adc by your project's id and xyz by the id of your defined filter.

how many issues are retrieved by the filter you have assigned to the Gantt-Chart?

Your mentioned string is just a part of an url: missing (http|https)://domain:port/
whereas the port is optional and using 80 by default.
Please have a look at JIRA's system configuration, where you can find the correct baseurl as configured for your JIRA.

Frank,
I did not use the FQDN for obvius reasons but the url would be:
http://fqdn//browse/MGAMES#selectedTab=de.polscheit.jira.plugins.gantt%3Apsit_gantt-panel
</span<>>

Hi George,
if you configuration is fine for other projects, then timeout is a good point to look at, indeed. Once, I had the case, that the underlying database responses too late for the configured timeout of the Apache http/Tomcat-combination.
If you cannot modify that timeouts, you can try to limit the amount of retrieved issues by using a suitable JIRA filter. By default, you can choose a filter after the Gantt-Chart has been loaded. In your special case, please use the following URL with parameters as described below having replaced "baseUrl" with your JIRA's one to set a filter upfront to loading the project's Gantt-Chart:
baseUrl/plugins/servlet/gantt-settings?action=setFilter&pid=abc&id=xyz param "pid": project ID (not project key, like 10000) param "id" : filter ID (like 10100)

Hi Frank,
Could you please let me know how to set this in "baseurl". In my current set up the url is: /browse/MGAMES#selectedTab=de.polscheit.jira.plugins.gantt%3Apsit_gantt-panel"

Hi George,
it looks like you have not set your JIRA baseurl or your session has been timed out. Can you please verify?

Frank

Hi Frank,
I don't think this is the case because it works with other projects. I suspect that some sort of timeout is happening.
