Issue Templates Gold Edition - JQL for conditional subtask

jchorus July 17, 2017

Hi,

I would like to use the Issue Templates plugin to create a subtask only if one of the template fields that need to be defined on the parent has a certain value.

Example:

In the parent template I defined a field:

[my_parameter]

which sales has to complete in order to setup the task. Now a subtask should be created only if [my_parameter] has a certain value.

According to the documentation, this should be possible.

https://intenso.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IT/pages/109954261/Copy+Subtasks

Sadly there are few details here. Can somebody provide an example?

Much appreciated. Thx

Hi,

Certainly, it is possible to do this case in IT.

You have to properly configure :

  • Add a sub-task to your template – you can do that by choosing "Create Sub-task" action in your parent issue template;
  • Select a Copy Scope on each SubTask ('scope' is bunch of fields you want to copy)
  • Provide on each SubTask JQL Query like [my_parameter]='value_you_want_to_validate' (if the current parent issue matches the JQL then the sub-task will be copied)

We can as well organize a remote session to help you configure this. If yes please report this here:

Regards,

Piotr
